  • Onyal Vernon “OV” Morrison, 89, of Story, Ar. passed away May 3, 2017 in Mt. Ida, Ar.  He was born November 29, 1927 to Emmit and Edith (Brown) Morrison in Mauldin, Ar.  OV is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorathy Morrison of 64 years, son Dean Morrison, daughter Velma Morrison, great granddaughter Ashley Morrison, brother Carl Morrison and brother Doyle Morrison.

    He is survived by his son, Vernon Cotton Morrison (Elise), daughter, Barbara (Bobbi) Glidewell (John), sister, Mildred Stewart, Grandchildren-Wendell Morrison (Karen), Brian Morrison (Janie), Stephen Morrison (Leah),  Kevin Morrison (Emily), Amber Nicolosi, John Eric Glidewell (Jessica), Brigittie O’Neal (Larry), Kenneth Manley (Laura),  20  Great Grandchildren,11 Great-Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-Great Grandchild, several nieces, nephews and friends.

    OV was a self made man who was a business owner, cattle buyer and owner.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to Oaklawn.  Above all, he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends.

    Visitation will be held Friday, May 5, 2017, 5 to 8pm at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Ida, Ar. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017, 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery.  Service will be officiated by Brother Josh Harper and David Spears.

    Pallbearers: Wendell Morrison, Brian Morrison, Stephen Morrison, Kevin Morrison, John Eric Glidewell and Kenneth Manley.

    Honorary Pallbearers: The staff of Montgomery County Nursing Home.

    To Mr. Morrison's family~~~~~I never had the pleasure of meeting him; but, after meeting his son and all of his family I know he was a great man! It's hard to know his left this world. I am almost sure he is so proud of each one of you. We are very fortunate to have Kevin in our family now. Prayers for all you good people!
